The St. Louis Rams have re-signed tight end Daniel Fells, who caught three touchdown passes in 2009. Terms of this week's deal were not disclosed. Fells was signed off of Tampa Bay's practice squad in October 2008 and emerged as an effective second tight end for St. Louis. The scouting combine is in the rear-view mirror, but the work continues. Especially for the Rams, who will spend the next seven weeks figuring out who to select with the first pick in the draft.
Will it be quarterback Sam Bradford? Or defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh or Gerald McCoy? Could there be a mystery candidate?
It appears the decision comes down to those three, with the slight possibility of quarterback Jimmy Clausen entering the discussion.
Bradford medical status is being closely scrutinized after he underwent shoulder surgery last fall. He didn't throw at the combine, but is scheduled to do so on March 25.
General manager Billy Devaney talked with the media following a report by ESPN Adam Schefter that said the Rams would select Bradford.
