The Philadelphia Eagles have signed free agent wide receiver Hank Baskett to a one-year contract. Baskett was released by the Eagles last September after three seasons in Philadelphia. He then signed with Indianapolis and played 15 games, including playoffs. Baskett had 71 catches for 1,046 yards and six touchdowns in 47 games with the Eagles.Redskins signing RB Larry Johnson? Unlike last year when the Giants went on a signing spree that resulted in their acquisition of four unrestricted free agents, this year they took a more conservative approach which so far has seen them acquire just two veterans—both had their contracts terminated by their former clubs.
The Giants' headline acquisition, of course, is S Antrel Rolle, whom the Arizona Cardinals released just prior to the start of free agency. Although the Cardinals had hoped to re-sign Rolle, the safety said he felt more at home after visiting with the Giants, who made him one of the highest paid players at his position with a five-year, $37 million contract that includes $15 million in guaranteed money.
Rolle's signing initially raised questions about the Giants' other starting free...

Albert Haynesworth has likely become Maake Kemoeatu's biggest fan.
That's because if Kemoeatu, who signed with Washington on March 10, can recover from the torn Achilles' tendon that ended his 2009 season with Carolina in training camp, Haynesworth can focus on the playmaking defensive end spot instead of the self-sacrificing nose tackle role in Washington's 3-4 defense being established by new coordinator Jim Haslett.
Haynesworth isn't one to be unselfish, but Kemoeatu is happy to do just that.
The 31-year-old Hawaiian broke into the NFL with Baltimore in 2002 as a rookie free agent from Utah.
A backup during his first three seasons in Baltimore's 3-4 scheme, Kemoeatu became a starter in 2005 and made a career-high 70 tackles for a Ravens defense that...
Cowboys Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Don't be alarmed Cowboys fans. Jerry Jones has not fallen asleep at the wheel.
Just because the Cowboys have done nothing in free agency doesn't mean there is a reason to panic.
Remember, sometimes perception is not reality. That's certainly the case with Jones of late. Jones has the reputation of an owner who throws his money around, but it's usually with his own players and certainly not at the start of free agency.
The Cowboys haven't been active in the first week of free agency since 2007 when they signed Leonard Davis from Cardinals.
They didn't make big splashes in either of the past two years.
So what the Cowboys are doing this year goes along with their recent philosophy.
"There's no angst about getting anxious here," the Cowboys owner...
Eagles Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
For the second year in a row, the Eagles are taking a free-agent gamble on a guy coming off major knee surgery.
Defensive back Marlin Jackson, who is recovering from his second ACL tear in as many seasons, signed an incentive-laden two-year deal with the team. Even though he is just four months removed from surgery, the Eagles are penciling him in as their starting free safety this season.
They're hoping to get a quicker return on this investment than they did last year with offensive lineman Stacy Andrews. The Eagles signed him last March to a six-year, $40 million deal just two months after he had surgery to repair a torn ACL, and hoped he would start for them at either right guard or right tackle.
